A Bit About Ragusa
Ragusa is a city in the southeast of Sicily, Italy famed for its magnificent Baroque architecture. It is one of the eight towns that comprise the Val di Noto UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has two parts divided by the Valle dei Ponti ravine: Ragusa Inferiore (Lower Ragusa) and Ragusa Superiore (Upper Ragusa).
Ragusa Inferiore, also known as Ragusa Ibla, is the old town situated on the slopes of the hill, where you’ll find winding streets, cobblestoned alleyways, gray stone houses, and grand Baroque palazzi (palaces). Perched on top of the hill, Ragusa Superiore is the more modern part of town and is home to the Ragusa Cathedral.
